November 21: Gypsum imports via Mundra Port stood at 34,156 tons during October 2014 against only 545 tons in the previous month, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In October 2013, gypsum imports via the port stood at 96 tons.
During the first seven months (April-October) of 2014-15, total imports of gypsum through the port stood at 90,781 tons against 32,575 tons seen during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

During October 2014, 107 tons came from Egypt at a price of Rs 10,131 ($163) per ton, 103 tons from Iran at a price range of Rs 4,043-Rs 4,553 ($65-$73) per ton, 33,746 tons from Oman at a price range of Rs 1,192-Rs 8,381 ($19-$135) per ton while the balance 200 tons came in from Saudi Arabia at a price range of Rs 8,556-Rs 8,590 ($138) per ton.
