Gypsum imports via Vizag drop 20% m-o-m in August

September 11: Gypsum imports through the port of Vizag dropped 19.62% to 43,043 tons in August 2014 against a quantum of 53,556 tons in July, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

In August, 43,018 tons arrived from Oman in a band of Rs 1,601 – Rs 9,634 ($26-156) per ton while the balance 25 tons came in from Thailand at a unit price of 6,569 ($106).

In July, 28,466 tons arrived from Iran in a range of Rs 1,425 – Rs 1,672 ($24-28) per ton, 25,017 tons came in from Oman in a range of Rs 1,526 – Rs 9,455 ($25-156) per ton while the balance 73 tons arrived from the UAE at a unit price of Rs 9,198 ($152).
