15 Mar 2016
Construction work of the proposed 3-million tons (mt) oil jetty of the Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) could start from the middle of 2016. The time limit for completion of the Rs 170-crore project would be 24 months, a top HDC official told ICMW.
The official added that the financial part of this public-private-partnership (PPP) project is being taken care of on a war footing so that all technicalities get completed by this month-end.
The company, which has pre-qualified in the bidding process, has been asked to furnish the details of the final financial bidding. For that purpose a tripartite meeting among officials of the port, representatives of the pre-qualified agency and financial institutions would be taking place on Friday.
HDC already has three oil jetties. Keeping an eye on increasing liquid cargo handling, HDC has decided to set up the fourth one which could handle 3 mt of liquid cargo.
