HPCL starts pet coke exports to Pak via Wagah border

March 3: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) has started export of petroleum coke to Pakistan through the land route via the Wagah border in Amritsar, an industry source said.
"HPCL has exported two trucks of pet coke to Pakistan via the Wagah border on trial basis towards the end of February," the source added.
India and Pakistan recently agreed to increase bi-lateral trade through land routes.
"If the experiment is successful, other refiners like Reliance Industries and Essar Oil, which had been exporting pet coke to Pakistan through the sea route via Karachi, may also explore opportunities to tap this new route," an industry official said.
