HZL floats enquiry to procure 0.2 mt imported coal

February 6: Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), a Vedanta Group company, on February 6, floated an enquiry to procure 200,000 tons of imported steam coal of any origin for laycan loading in March and April, 2014, according to information available with ICMW.

This was the company's 10th enquiry for the current financial year (2013-14).

The company had, on January 8, also floated an enquiry for a similar quantity of imported coal. Prior to that, it had floated few enquiries in November 2013.

HZL is looking to procure coal with GCV of 5,700 Kcal/kg (ARB), TM of less than 12%, ash content of less than 25%, sulphur of less than 3.5% and HGI of 42-55.

The company is looking to procure coal of Indonesian/Colombian/US/any other origin matching the above specifications.

The material has to be delivered at Navlakhi Port on the west coast of India in Geared Supramaxes or Gearless panamaxes or capesize vessels.

Interested parties are required to submit their offers on or before February 11 till noon with a validity of minimum three working days.
