HZL floats market enquiry to procure 0.2 mt imported steam coal

January 8: Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) has floated an enquiry in the market to procure 200,000 tons of imported steam coal, a company source informed ICMW.

The material to be procured may be of Indonesian/US/Columbian or Australian origin and the shipment period should be between January-March, 2014. It is to be delivered at Navlakhi port on the western coast of India.

The material should have a GCV of 5,700 Kcal/Kg (ARB) while total moisture should be less than 12%, ash content must be less than 25% and sulphur content less than 3.5%.
Interested parties can submit their bids till January 13, 2014, the source added.

ICMW had reported earlier on November 12 that, HZL had floated an enquiry to procure a similar quantity of the material for loading laycans in December 2013-Janaury 2014.

The company had, on October 25, 2013 floated a similar enquiry for a similar loading period, but it appears that the leading zinc miner has not received offers from traders or miners or the offers were on the higher side, industry sources said.
