Haldia Port’s 2015-16 coal handling increases 18.62%

Handling of coal (imports of coking coal, non-coking coal, met coke and RP coke) by Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) (under Kolkata Port Trust) stood at 14,511,000 tons during financial year 2015-16, showing an increase of 18.62% from 12,233,000 tons handled in 2014-15, as per provisional data from port sources available with ICMW.
Moreover, HDC handled 1,592,000 tons of coal cargo in March 2016, registering rise of 34.80% over 1,181,000 tons handled in February 2016.
On the other hand, handling of coal by the port in March 2015 stood at 1,617,000 tons, which shows that handling was marginally down 1.55 % y-o-y.
