Haldia Port’s May coal handling down 5.95% m-o-m

The handing of imported coal by Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) (under Kolkata Port Trust) located in the eastern state of West Bengal, declined 5.95% during the month of May 2016 as compared to the preceding month, according to provisional data provided by a source in the port.
The total handing of coal by the port in May 2016 slipped to 1.138 million tons (mt) from a high of 1.210 mt handled in April 2016, the data revealed.
Moreover, coal handling by the port in May this year was down 21.52% compared to 1.450 mt handled during the same month of 2015.
Likewise, total coal handled by the port in the first two months (April-May) of the financial year of 2016-17 went down 14.87% to 2.348 mt compared to 2.758 mt tons handled during the same period of 2015-16.
