Henan January-October coal output down 9.4% y-o-y

Henan, one major coal producing province in central China, produced 103.24 million tonnes of raw coal over January-October this year, down 9.4% year on year, showed data from the Henan Administration of Coal Mine Safety on November 9.
During the same period, key mines – owned by the provincial government or branches of central government-owned companies – produced 97.42 million tonnes of raw coal, a drop of 9.8% from the year prior.
Henan Energy & Chemical Group Co., Ltd., the largest coal miner in the province, produced 45.34 million tonnes of raw coal over January-October, sliding 11.66% year on year; while China Pingmei Shenma Group and Zhengzhou Coal Industry Co., Ltd produced 30.34 million and 14.14 million tonnes, down 9.24% and 8.68% on year.
The output from local mines – owned by governments at the prefecture and lower levels and private operators – fell 1.4% on year to 5.83 million tonnes.
The administration didn’t publish the output figures for October.
Calculations showed output in October stood at 10.48 million tonnes, rising 2.35% on month and up 2.04% on year.
Output from key mines was 9.79 million tonnes or 93.4% of the total in October, increasing 2.62% from September and steady from a year ago; while output from local mines rose 47.9% on year and up 1.45% on month to 700,000 tonnes.
