IMC meet for linkages/LoAs auctions on March 20

March 17: The third meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC), constituted for the proposed auction of coal linkages/letters of assurances (LoAs) through competitive bidding, will be held on March 20 at 1500 hours.

The second meeting was held earlier this month and ICMW had reported that another meeting would be held towards the end of March

The urgency with which meetings are being held showed the government’s willingness to complete the process at the earliest, industry sources said.

The IMC would consider various structures and models for implementing the competitive bidding route for linkages.

Earlier, the IMC had suggested that an external consultant may be appointed by Coal India Ltd (CIL) to suggest a methodology for linkages to different sectors.
