30 May 2014
May 30: The 5th meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) to consider issues related to supply of coal to certain end-use plants, was held in New Delhi on May 30.
The meet discussed issues linked to captive coal blocks, Ministry of Coal (MoC) sources told ICMW.
The discussions revolved around the number of coal blocks that may be allocated, how many blocks were facing environmental and forest clearance hurdles or land acquisition related issues.
However, no decisions were taken on any of the above.
It is learnt that the ministry will come out with decisions on the same soon.
It may be recalled that this meeting was to have been held on May 8, 2014, but was subsequently deferred to May 12 and then postponed indefinitely.
