Imported coal stock at 9 ports edge down 4.30% w-o-w

India’s imported coal stocks at nine ports stood at 8.25 mt on March 25, 2016, down 4.30 % compared to 8.62 mt as on March 18, 2016, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
March 25 was the last Friday of the current financial year. As the financial year is about to end, coal dispatched from the ports has increased, according to a senior official from Krishnapatnam Port.
The compiled ports were Mumbai, New Mangalore, Haldia, Marmagoa, Paradip, Vizag, Krishnapatnam, Dhamra and Pipavav.
The highest volume of coal stocks was available at Paradip Port, at 2.24 mt, as on March 25, 2016, almost flat compared to 2.45 mt March 18. At Krishnapatnam Port, the stocks edged down 3.43% to 1.67 mt from 1.75 mt.
Coal stocks at Kolkata Port decreased 9.09% to 0.90 mt on March 25 as against 0.99 mt on March 18. A 6.98% decrease was noticed at Marmagoa Port at 0.40 mt on March 25 from 0.43 mt on March 18. The coal stocks at Mumbai Port remained unchanged at 0.04 mt.
