Imported coal stocks fall at Mundra Port m-o-m

February 3: Stocks of imported coal (all types of coal) at Mundra Port, the largest commercial port in India, fell by almost 33% on a month-on month basis, a senior official told ICMW.

Imported coal stocks of the port stood at to 0.6 million tons (mt) as on January 31, 2014, compared to 0.9 mt reported on the same day a month ago (December 31, 2013), according to data available with ICMW.

For the first 10 months (April-January) in 2013-14, almost 28.24 mt coal was imported through the port, out of which non-coking coal imports stood at 26.83 mt and coking coal at 1.20 mt. The import of metallurgical coke and petroleum coke via Mundra during the period stood at 22,915 tons and 174,562 tons respectively.
