Imported coal stocks rise at Paradip Port

March 27: Stocks of imported coal at Paradip Port on the eastern coast of India, as reported by the parties, rose on March 26 as compared to the scenario on March 15, a port official said.

The stocks of imported coal at the port rose to 1.168 million tons (mt) as on March 26 from 1.138 mt recorded on March 15.

Stocks of imported coal at the port stood at 1.084 mt on February 27.

Of the total stocks lying at the port as on March 26, 0.484 tons comprised steam coal and 0.684 tons, coking coal.

On March 15, steam coal stocks stood at 0.540 mt and coking coal at 0.598 mt whereas on February 27, 0.508 tons comprised steam coal and 0.576 tons, coking coal.

Out of the total steam coal lying at the port on March 26, Adani had stocks of 120,000 tons, Bhatia, 94,000 tons and JSPL, 5,000 tons whereas on March 15, Adani had stocks of 66,000 tons, Bhatia, 95,000 tons and JSPL, 5,000 tons.

Out of the total stocks of coking coal as on March 26, SAIL had 233,000 tons, Tata Steel 22,000 tons and Visa had 49,000 tons whereas on March 15, SAIL had 178,000 tons, Tata Steel 30,000 tons and Visa, 4,000 tons.
