Imported pet coke prices remain largely unchanged

A firmness in freight rates notwithstanding, the offers of imported pet coke CFR India continue to remain, by and large, unchanged despite continued enquiries from China, industry sources said.

Prices of Saudi Arabian pet coke are being quoted at around $35 per ton CFR India while that of US Gulf Coast cargo is being quoted at $40-42 per ton CFR India, they said.

Price of the US Gulf material is quoted at around same level of $41-42 per ton as seen on February 22.

Freight rates from the US had softened to about $15-16 per ton in the middle of February, but these again firmed up to $18-19 per ton. But despite that offers have not changed much, they said.
