Imports of pet coke via Mundra rise significantly in September

October 17: Imports of pet coke via Mundra port rose almost 233% in September 2013 to 30 tons against 9 tons recorded in August 2013, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Total imports of pet coke in the first six months (April-September) of the current fiscal stood at 54,229 tons whereas the figure was at 48 tons for the same period in the previous financial year.
Following is the monthly break-up of pet coke imports via Mundra port in 2012-13 and 2013-14 (in tons):

During September 2013, the entire quantity came from United Kingdom at a price range of Rs 60,098-Rs 63,111 ($942-$985) while in August, the entire quantity was imported from UK at a price of Rs 58,411 ($944) per ton.
