Imports of pet coke via Mundra up significantly in October

November 21: Imports of pet coke via Mundra port rose manifold in October 2013 to 60,538 tons against only 30 tons recorded in September 2013, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Total imports of pet coke in the first seven months (April-October) of the current fiscal stood at 114,767 tons whereas the figure was at only 48 tons for the same period in the previous financial year.
Following is the monthly break-up of pet coke imports via Mundra port in 2012-13 and 2013-14 (in tons):

In October 2013, the entire material came from USA at a price range of Rs 6,180-Rs 6,216 (99-$100) per ton.
However, during September 2013, the entire quantity came from United Kingdom at a price range of Rs 60,098-Rs 63,111 ($942-$985) while in August, the entire quantity was imported from UK at a price of Rs 58,411 ($944) per ton.
