Increase in Saudi pet coke volumes into India

August 14: After cement major ACC Ltd, a trader in India recently bought one cargo of pet coke from Saudi Aramco Total Refinery & Petrochemicals Company (Satorp), at Jubail in Saudi Arabia, an industry source said.

“The vessel of the trader arrived at Kandla Port and unloading started on August 13,” the source said.

The deal to the Indian trader was executed by Oxbox of the US.

ICMW had reported on July 12 that pet coke cargo from Saudi Arabia had started coming to India and ACC was the first company to do make a purchase.

One vessel containing ACC’s consignment was unloaded at Gangavaram and another at probably New Mangalore, according to information available with ICMW.
