India’s April pithead vendible coal stocks drop 10.81 % y-o-y

May 26: India’s pithead vendible coal stocks fell 10.81% to 52.73 million tons (mt) as on the last day of April 2014, from 59.12 mt recorded on the last day of April, 2013, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

Month-on-month, in April 2014, India’s pithead vendible coal stocks dropped 5.89% from 56.04 mt as on the last day of March 2014. As on the last day of February 2014, India’s pithead vendible coal stocks stood at 45.54 mt.

Pithead vendible stocks had been falling continuously from a high of 63.049 mt at the end of March 2013, to 58.031 mt in end-April, 53.755 mt at the end of May, 48.939 mt in end-June, 43.045 mt at the end of July, 39.494 mt at the end of August, 37.033 mt at the end of September and 36.754 mt in October-end. However, from November 2013, pithead vendible stocks in India started increasing till February 2014.

In fact, CIL’s vendible stocks fell 15.22% to 45.55 mt on the last day of April 2014 compared to 53.73 mt on the last day of April 2013.
