India’s Dec coking coal output exceeds target

India’s coking coal production in December 2015 exceeded target and stood at 5.45 million tons (mt), registering a 10.99% jump over 4.91 mt in November 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
India’s coking coal production in December 2015 was also up 8.57% over 5.02 mt recorded for the same month last year (December 2014).
Production in December 2015 exceeded the monthly target of 5.22 mt, the data shows. The yearly target for the same for 2015-16 is 58.88 mt.
Coking coal production in the first nine months (April-December) of the current fiscal (2015-16) stood at 41.47 mt, marginally higher than 40.36 mt recorded for the same period of the previous fiscal.
December coking coal production by CIL stood at 4.80 mt against 4.45 mt in the same month of the previous year (December 2014).
CIL’s December coking coal output was 103.67% of the target of 4.63 mt set for the month.
The contributions of CIL subsidiaries were 2.82 mt from BCCL, 1.96 mt from CCL, 0.02 mt from WCL and 0.01 from SECL.
