India’s December coal despatches up 5.79% y-o-y

January 27: India’s coal despatches during December 2014 stood at 54.98 million tons (mt), up 5.79% from 51.97 mt in December 2013, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
The despatches in December 2014 were nearly 6.74% higher from 51.51 mt despatched in November 2014.
India’s coal despatches during April-December, 2014-15 stood at 441.78 mt, up 6.75% compared to 413.83 mt produced during the corresponding period of 2013-14, provisional data revealed.
However, despatches during April-December, 2014-15 was lower from the target of 467.73 mt set for the period.
For financial year 2014-15, India’s coal despatch target stands at 643.26 mt of which 519.59 mt is to be despatched by Coal India Limited, 55.42 mt by Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) and 68.25 mt by captive coal mines.
