India’s December coal production up 9.47% m-o-m

After a 7.08% growth in November, India’s coal production in the month of December 2015 stood at 61.95 million tons (mt), up 9.47% from 56.59 mt reported in November 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In December 2015, India’s coal production was up 6.13% from 58.37 mt recorded in the same month a year ago (December 2014).
Production target for the month of December 2015 was 64.00 mt while the same for the entire year of 2015-16 stands at 700 mt.
India’s coal production in the first nine months (April-December) of the current fiscal (2015-16) stood at 447.52 mt, up 4.74% from 427.27 mt recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal.
During the first nine months (April-November) of the current fiscal (2015-16), India’s coal production was 90.72% of the targeted 493.31 mt set for the period.
During the third quarter ended December 2015, total production was 171.87 mt, about 5.62% higher than 162.72 mt achieved during the same quarter last year.
