India’s Feb cement output edges down 0.38% m-o-m
12 Apr 2016
India’s cement production in February 2016 went down to 25.50 million tons (mt), a decrease of 0.38% compared to 25.88 mt registered in January 2016.
According to data available with ICMW, production in February 2016 was up 13.03% compared to 22.56 mt produced in February 2015.
For the first 11 months (April- February) of 2015-16, India’s cement production stood at 255.70 mt, up 3.84% compared to 246.25 mt produced in the same period of 2014-15.
Earlier, after touching a high of more than 24 mt in May 2015, cement production had witnessed a decline for four consecutive months, but rose 5.92% to 22.73 mt in October.
In November again, production went downhill, largely owing to lack of demand. But in December, it somewhat bounced back, thanks to a fall in the prices of pet coke, limestone and fuel.
