India’s Nov cement output down 10.34% m-o-m
18 Jan 2016
India’s cement production in November 2015 dipped to its lowest level in the current financial year of 2015-16 to 20.38 million tons (mt), resulting in a decrease of 10.34% compared to a production level of 22.73 mt in October 2015.
Incidentally, after touching a high of over 24 mt in May 2015, India’s cement production started witnessing a decline for four consecutive months but rose 5.92% to 22.73 mt in October. But, in November, it again went downhill, largely owing to lack of demand.
However, there is a brighter side as well. India’s cement production touched 180.43 mt in the first eight months (April-November) of the current financial year of 2015-16, up 15.69% compared to 155.96 mt produced in the same period of 2014-15.
According to data available with ICMW, production in November 2015 was down 1.79% as compared to 20.76 mt produced in November 2014.
