India’s Oct coal imports edge down 2% m-o-m

December 1: India’s coal and coke imports during November 2015 through 31 major and non-major ports are estimated to have declined 1.9% compared to October 2015, according to a provisional compilation by ICMW, based on monitoring of vessels’ positions and data received from shipping companies.
Imports during November 2015 stood at 17.13 million tons (mt) (provisional) as compared to 17.46 mt (revised) imported in October.
The provisional figure for the month of October was 17.98 mt.
Imports in November 2015 stood at 20.48 mt, according to ICMW’s compilation.
Of the total imports during November 2015, non-coking coal was at 12.10 mt. The figure was same in October.
Coking coal imports were at 3.45 mt in November 2015, down from 3.97 mt in October 2015.
Metallurgical coke imports during the month rose a bit to 0.22 mt from 0.21 mt while petroleum coke imports increased to 0.81 mt in November 2015 from 0.78 mt in October 2015.
PCI coal imports were at 0.33 mt in November 2015, same as that in October 2015.
Anthracite coal imports, on the other hand, increased to 0.22 mt in November 2015 from 0.07 mt in October month-on-month.
