India’s Oct power generation up 5.01% m-o-m

November 19: India’s power generation in October 2014 stood at 90.11 billion units (BU), up 5.01% from 85.81 BU generated in September 2014, according to provisional data from the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
Out of the total generation in October, 75.33 BU (63.63 BU in October, 2013) were in the thermal sector, 11.24 BU (12.08 BU in October 2013) were in the hydro sector and 2.82 BU (3.14 BU in October 2013) in nuclear while imports from Bhutan stood at 0.707 BU (0.709 BU in October 2013).
Out of the total generation in September, 65.98 BU (64.31 BU in September, 2013) were in the thermal sector, 16.10 BU (15.02 BU in September 2013) were in hydro and 2.75 BU (2.55 BU in September 2013) in nuclear while imports from Bhutan stood at 0.98 BU (0.81 BU in September 2013).
During the first seven months (April-October) of 2014-15, total power generation in India stood at 622.06 BU while the same stood at 561.59 BU during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
