India’s October coal despatches up 9.44% m-o-m

November 27: India’s coal despatches in the month of October 2015 stood at 52.75 million tons (mt) against 48.19 mt in September 2015, up 9.46% month-on-month, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
On a year-on-year basis, the desptaches in October 2015 registered a growth of 8.31% from 48.70 mt recorded in the same month a year ago.
Coal despatches in the first seven months (April-October) of the current fiscal (2015-16) stood at 350.90 mt, up 4.63% from 335.36 mt recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal.
India’s coal despatches during April-October, 2015-16 were 90.21% of the 388.95 mt target set for the period.
Of the total coal despatched in October 2015, CIL’s share stood at 295.60 mt, up from 268.90 mt in the same month a year ago. CIL despatches target for the month of October were 44.27 mt and that for the seven months of 2015 at 303.81 mt.
Coal despatches from Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and captive blocks stood at 4.76 mt and 3.61 mt respectively in October 2015, against 4.35 mt and 5.33 mt in the previous fiscal respectively. The despatch target for the month of October for SCCL was 4.75 mt and 7.83 mt for captive blocks.
The country’s annual and October despatch targets in 2015-16 were at 699.63 mt and 56.86 mt respectively.
