India’s October coking coal output rises 7.74 % m-o-m

November 27: India’s coking coal production in October 2015 was at 4.45 million tons (mt) compared to 4.13 million ton (mt) in September 2015, up 7.74% month-on-month, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Production targets for the month of October were at 4.69 mt and for 2015-16, 58.88 mt.
India’s coking coal production in October 2015, however, was down 3.25% from 4.60 mt recorded in the same month of last year (October 2014).
Coking coal production in the first seven months (April-October) of the current fiscal (2015-16) stood at 30.53 mt, virtually unchanged from 30.56 mt recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal.
October coking coal production by CIL stood at 3.89 mt against 4.06 mt in the same month of the previous year (October 2014).
CIL’s October coking coal output, however, was 94.87% of the targeted 4.10 mt for the month. Apart from CIL, the contribution of other five subsidiaries were 2.53 mt from BCCL, 1.32 mt from CCL, 0.01 mt from SECL, and 0.02 mt from WCL.
