India’s October power generation edges up 3.45% m-o-m

December 02: India’s total power generation roose by 3.45% to 98.459 billion units (BU) during the month of October 2015 compared to 95.177 BU generated in September, 2015, a data released by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) revealed.
The actual generation in October was 8.79% higher compared to the target of 97.165 BU for the month.
On year-on-year (y-o-y) basis, the generation in October was up 8.79% as compared to 90.500 BU generated in October 2014.
Meanwhile India’s total power generation during the first seven months (April-October) of 2015-16 showed a moderate increase of 5.14% as compared to the corresponding period of the previous financial year
The country’s total power generation during the first seven months of the current financial year stood at 654.467 BU as compared to 622.454 generated during the same period of 2014-15.
