India’s Tamil Nadu Generation & Distribution Corp. is seeking 3.7 million metric tons of power-station coal for delivery from March to August of 2014. 

 

The state utility, based in the southern Indian city of Chennai, is seeking 2.8 million metric tons of thermal coal to be delivered to Ennore and Karaikal, as well as 900,000 tons to Tuticorin, according to a tender document posted on the company’s website. 

 

Tamil Nadu is seeking coal with calorific value of 6,000 kilocalories a kilogram and total moisture and sulfur content of 15 percent and 6 percent, respectively. Offers are due Dec. 6.
