India’s average plant load factor increases in 2015-16

India’s average plant load factor (PLF) for coal and lignite-based power plants rose to 62.19% in 2015-16 from 54.37% in 2014-15, according to data published by Central Electricity Authority (CEA).

As per the CEA data, India’s overall PLF for coal and lignite based power plants in March 2016 rose y-o-y but declined m-o-m. Overall, the PLF for thermal power plants was 63.89% in March 2016, up from 60.33% in March 2015.
