India’s captive blocks’ Aug output dips 0.69% m-o-m

September 28: Coal production from the captive blocks in India dipped by a marginal 0.69% to 2.86 million tons in August 2015 compared to 2.88 million tons (mt) in July 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In August 2015, coal production from the captive blocks is down 44.25% from 5.13 mt recorded in the same month last year (August 2014).
Coal production from the captive mines was 36.52% of the 7.83 mt target set for the month.
Coal production from the captive blocks in India fell 44% to 15.26 mt in the first five months (April-August) of the current fiscal (2015-16) compared to 27.25 mt recorded in the same period of last fiscal.
The target for coal production from captive blocks is 2015-16 is 94 mt.
