India’s captive coal mines’ April output falls 20.48% m-o-m

May 26: After a rise of five consecutive months, coal production from the captive blocks fell 20.48% to 4.23 million tons (mt) in April 2014, compared to 5.32 mt recorded in March, 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
The production target for the month of April, 2014, however, was not available.
On a year-on-year basis too, production from captive blocks rose nearly 4% from 4.07 mt in April 2013.
In 2013-14, production from captive blocks stood at 52.64 mt.
