India’s imported coal stocks at 8 ports up marginally

June 10: India's imported coal stocks at eight ports -seven major and one private - provisionally stood at 4.842 million tons (mt ) as on June 6, 2014, according to data available with ICMW.
The stock of imported coal at six major ports – V O Chidambaram, Mumbai , Kandla, Kolkata, Mormugao, New Mangalore and Paradip – and one private port (Mundra) stood at 4.664 mt as on May 31, as per revised information available with ICMW.
The provisional stock of imported coal during the week ending on May 31 stood at 3.984 mt, which did not include data from Kandla and Mundra ports.
Imported coal stocks position at Mundra Port fell by 7.35% on June 6 to 0.63 mt as compared to 0.68 mt on May 31. Of the total stock as on June 6, the stock of steam coal stood at 0.50 mt down from 0.55 mt as on May 31 whereas coking coal stock remained unchanged at 0.13 mt.
