India’s imported coal stocks at 9 ports marginally down w-o-w

January 29: India's imported coal stocks at nine ports – eight major and one private –stood at 8.059 million tons (mt) as on January 23 against a volume of 8.112 mt as on January 16, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

The overall inventories of imported coal at Indian ports as on January 23 fell slightly as during the week under review coal stocks in all ports ( monitored by ICMW) except  Paradip either dropped or remained at its previous level.

As on January 23 coal stocks at Paradip Port increased slightly to 2.986 mt against 2.980 mt against on January 16. Of the total coal stocks at the port recorded during the week, steam coal’s share was at 1.574 mt coking coal’s share was at 1.412 mt against a volume of 1.624 mt and 1.356 mt respectively as on January 16.

Imported coal stocks at Mundra Port during the week ended January 23 dropped to 0.993 mt against a volume of 1.045 mt as on January 16. During the week under review the port’s steam coal stocks dropped slightly to 0.910 mt from the previous level of 0.920 mt while the coking coal stocks of the port in the week under review stood at 0.083 mt against 0.125 mt recorded as on January 16.

Imported coal stocks inventories at Kolkata Port and Vizag Port as on January 23 remained at the same level of January 16. On January 16 imported coal stocks at the ports remained at 0.789 mt and 1.200 mt respectively.
