India’s imported coal stocks up 3.24% w-o-w

June 4: India's imported coal stocks at the six major ports of India provisionally increased 3.24% to 3.984 million tons (mt) as on May 31, compared to 3.859 mt as on May 23, according to data received by ICMW.
Higher imported coal inventory levels at V O Chidambaram Port, Kolkata Port and Mumbai Port pulled up the overall coal stocks as on May 31 over the imported coal inventory as on May 23, data revealed.
At V O Chidambaram Port, imported coal stocks, as on May 31, rose 3.56% to 0.990 mt as compared to 0.956 mt as on May 23 while at Mumbai Port, imported coal stocks rose to 0.285 mt as on May 31, up by 45.41% from 0.196 mt on May 23. At Kolkata Port, imported coal stocks as on May 31 stood at 0.452 mt compared to 0.381 mt on May 23, registering an increase of 18.64%.
At New Mangalore Port, the inventory of imported coal stocks was static as on May 31 at 0.850 mt compared to that on May 23.
Imported coal stocks at Mormugao Port, on the other hand, dropped 30.34% to 0.124 mt as on May 31 compared to 0.178 mt as on May 23 while coal stocks at Paradip Port dropped 1.16% to 1.283 mt on May 31 compared to 1.298 mt on May 23.
