India’s steel imports rise m-o-m, y-o-y

India’s steel imports rose 9.3% in March 2016 to 997,000 tons from 912,000 tons in February 2016, latest provisional steel ministry data showed.

In March 2015, steel imports stood at 841,000 tons. This shows steel imports increased 18.5% year-on-year.

In April-March 2015-16, steel imports rose 25.7% to 11.71 million tons (mt), up from 9.32 mt in the same period last year.
