Indian Railways Apr-Nov freight loading up 5.24% y-o-y

December 10: Indian Railways (IR) carried 713.11 million tons (mt) of revenue earning freight traffic during April-November, 2014, recording an increase of 35.53 mt or 5.24% as compared to 677.58 mt carried during the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a government release.

However, during the month of November 2014, the revenue earning freight traffic carried by Indian Railways stood at 91.45 mt, up 7.14 mt or 8.47% over the actual freight traffic of 84.31 mt carried during the same period last year.
