Indian Railways’ revenue earnings up 12.16% in FY15

April 8: The total approximate earnings of Indian Railways on originating basis during 2014-15 stood at Rs 157,880.50 crore, up 12.16% compared to Rs 140,761.27 crore during previous fiscal, said an official statement.

The total approximate earnings from goods during last fiscal increased 12.76% to Rs 107,074.79 crore from Rs 94, 955.89 crore during 2013-14, the statement said.

The total approximate revenue earnings from passengers 2014-15 were Rs 42,866.33 crore compared to Rs 37,478.34 crore during 2013-14, registering an increase of 14.38%.

The total approximate revenue earnings from other coaching amounted to Rs 4,035.56 crore during 2014-15 compared to Rs 3,818.03 crore during previous fiscal, registering an increase of 5.70%.
