Indian cement, aluminium cos float enquiries for imported coal

August 29: At least two leading cement companies and one company each from aluminium and copper sectors have recently floated enquiries for imported coal, an official from a leading trading company told ICMW.
"Madras Cement and Indian Cement have floated enquiries for South African (RB1) or 6,000 Kcal/kg GAR Indonesian coal for one Panamax cargo each for delivery in October," the official said.
Madras Cement is looking for delivery at Karaikal port whereas Indian Cement will take delivery at Krishnapatnam port, he added.
In addition, Malco and Sterlite Copper have floated enquiries for one parcel each of 60,000 tons imported coal for September Laycan, the official said.
Malco is looking to procure 5,500-5,800 Kcal/kg GAR coal whereas Sterlite Copper is looking to procure Indonesian-origin coal in the band of 5,000-5,300 Kcal/kg GAR, the official said.
