Indian mining delegation’s visit to Australia deferred

July 17: The proposed visit of a high-level Indian mining delegation to Australia has been deferred indefinitely, an informed source said.
“The delegation was expected to visit during the second quarter. However, it has been deferred as of now,” the source said.
While no specific reason was cited for the delay, it was believed that the general elections in India and subsequent change in the government has caused the deferment of the programme.
The Indian delegation’s visit was to be organised by the Australian Trade Commission to “reciprocate” the visit of a high-level Aussie delegation to India in February this year.
The purpose of the visit was to forge ties with the Australian mining industry for adoption of state-of-the-art mining technologies.
