Inner Mongolia August coal prices dip

Coal prices at Inner Mongolia autonomous region -- China’s leading coal production base – posted a drop this month, showed the latest data from the regional coal industry bureau.
The average price of western high-vol thermal coals stood at 153 yuan/t in August, down 0.65% on month and down 28.8% on year; while the price of western low-vol thermal coals averaged 95 yuan/t, down 2.1% on month and down 16.7% on year, said the bureau on its website on August 13.
The average coking coal price in the western region fell 3.6% from July and dropped 11.7% on year to 265 yuan/t in August; raw anthracite prices averaged 510 yuan/t, unchanged from July but down 3.8% on year.
The average ex-plant price of Grade II met coke at Wuhai region – one major production base in western Inner Mongolia— stayed unchanged from July but fell 170 yuan/t on year to 660 yuan/t in August; the washed coal prices in Wuhai averaged 475 yuan/t, down 10 yuan/t on month and down 100 yuan/t on year, said the bureau.
Besides, the price of eastern lignite averaged 115 yuan/t, down 2 yuan/t on month and down 12 yuan/t on year.
In addition, the price of Mongolian coking coal price averaged 260 yuan/t in Ceke border crossing this month, down 5 yuan/t on month and down 45 yuan/t on year; while that of Mongolian primary coking coal averaged 455 yuan/t at Ganqimaodu border crossing, falling 10 yuan/t from July and down 50 yuan/t on year.
