Inner Mongolia coal prices dip in September

Coal prices at China’s coal-rich Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region averaged 123 yuan/t in September this year, falling 4 yuan/t from August and down 37 yuan/t from the year prior, showed the latest data from the regional Coal Industry Bureau.
Of this, the average coal price at eastern region fell 2 yuan/t on month and down 12 yuan/t on year to 113 yuan/t in September; that at western region decreased 5 yuan/t on month and down 45 yuan/t on year to 126 yuan/t, data showed.
The average price of western high-vol thermal coals stood at 149 yuan/t, falling 4 yuan/t from August and down 61 yuan/t from a year ago; while the price of western low-vol thermal coals averaged 89 yuan/t, falling 6 yuan/t on month and down 25 yuan/t on year.
The coking coal price averaged 250 yuan/t, 15 yuan/t lower than August and down 50 yuan/t from the year prior; anthracite price increased 10 yuan/t on month and up 20 yuan/t on year to 250 yuan/t in September.
The average ex-plant price of Grade II met coke at Wuhai region—one major production base in western Inner Mongolia—dropped 30 yuan/t from August and down 200 yuan/t on year to 630 yuan/t; the washed coal prices in Wuhai averaged 440 yuan/t, dropping 35 yuan/t on month and down 135 yuan/t on year.
Lignite prices at eastern Inner Mongolia averaged 113 yuan/t, decreasing 2 yuan/t on month and down 12 yuan/t on year, said the bureau.
The imported coking coal price from neighboring Mongolia averaged 260 yuan/t at Ceke border crossing in September, unchanged from August and down 45 yuan/t on year; while imported primary coking coal prices at Ganqimaodu border crossing averaged 450 yuan/t, dropping 5 yuan/t on month and down 38 yuan/t on year.
