Inner Mongolia coal prices further slide in November

Coal prices in northern China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region averaged 116 yuan/t in November this year, falling 7 yuan/t from October and down 48 yuan/t from the year prior, said the regional Coal Industry Bureau.
Of this, the average coal price in the eastern part of the autonomous region stood at 110 yuan/t, declining 14 yuan/t on year and down 3 yuan/t on month; that in the western part dropped 9 yuan/t on month and 60 yuan/t on year to 118 yuan/t, data showed.
In the western part, the average price of high-CV thermal coal stood at 140 yuan/t, falling 6 yuan/t from October and down 81 yuan/t from a year ago; while the price of low-CV thermal coal averaged 83 yuan/t, falling 5 yuan/t on month and down 33 yuan/t on year.
Coking coal price averaged 235 yuan/t in November, 5 yuan/t lower than October and down 65 yuan/t from the year prior; anthracite price stood at 520 yuan/t in November, falling 10 yuan/t on year and unchanged from October.
The average ex-plant price of Grade II met coke in Wuhai — one major production base in western Inner Mongolia — stayed unchanged from October and plunged 230 yuan/t on year to 600 yuan/t; the washed coal prices in Wuhai averaged 440 yuan/t, down 135 yuan/t on year and unchanged from last month.
Lignite prices in eastern Inner Mongolia averaged 110 yuan/t, decreasing 14 yuan/t on year but up 1 yuan/t on month, said the bureau.
The price of imported coking coal from neighboring Mongolia averaged 260 yuan/t at Ceke border crossing in November, unchanged from October and down 30 yuan/t on year; while that of imported primary coking coal at Ganqimaodu border crossing averaged 440 yuan/t, increasing 10 yuan/t on month but down 45 yuan/t on year.
