JK Cement standalone Q4 net profit up 36%

May 20: JK Cement Limited reported a 35.96% increase in its net profit during the January-March quarter (fourth quarter) of 2013-14 to Rs 76.38 crore compared to Rs 56.19 crore reported in the same quarter of 2012-13, mainly on the back of increase in other income from operation, the company said in a filing to the BSE.
The company’s total income from operations during the quarter stood at Rs 832.71 crore compared to Rs 771.55 crore, registering an increase of almost 8%.
For 2013-14, however, the company’s standalone net profit dropped nearly 58% to Rs 97.02 crore compared to Rs 233.54 crore in 2012-13, mainly because of higher freight charges.
