Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) has secured a long-term coal linkage of 1.18 million tons per annum (mtpa) for its state-of-the-art captive power generation plants in Dongamahua and Raigarh in Chhattisgarh, according to a company release.
The long-term linkage for a period of 5 years has been secured during the recent coal linkage auctions and will ensure steady and assured supply of coal for the captive power plants, thereby enhancing fuel security for the power plants.
“The 1.18 mtpa coal linkage to our captive power generation facility significantly enhances the operational efficiencies of the power plants. In line with our philosophy, our prudent bids ensure that we get constant supply of coal for a period of 5 years,” said Ravi Uppal, Managing Director & Group CEO, JSPL. “We are looking forward to the next round of coal linkage auctions to fill the gap, and would selectively participate to further enhance our long-term fuel security requirements at prudent terms of our steel and power businesses,” Uppal added.
