JSW port to expand capacity to 50 mtpa in phase II

September 17: JSW Jaigarh Port plans to increase its capacity to 50 million tons per annum (mtpa) in phase II from the current capacity of 15 mtpa, an official from the port told ICMW.
He, however, did not define any timeline for the same.
“Currently, there are 2 operating berths at the port. We have plans to have a total of 10 berths, post-expansion for roll on-roll off (RoRo), liquid, containers, break bulk and bulk cargoes,” he said.
JSW Jaigarh Port is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) of JSW Infrastructure. Currently, it supports the coal import requirements of the 1,200-MW imported coal-based JSW Energy’s thermal power plant located at Jaigarh, The company (JSW Jaigarh Port) was created to develop the port on a build-own-operate-share-transfer (BOOST) basis, under a 50-year concession licensed by the state government of Maharashtra.
