Jaiprakash Group floats enquiry for upto 0.45 mt of SA coal

May 14: Jaiprakash Group, India's leading cement-maker, has floated an enquiry to procure imported coal of South African (SA) origin for one to three cape size vessel(s) for laycan loading in June and July, according to information available with ICMW.
The company is looking to procure off-spec material with specification ranging between 5,500 Kcal/kg NAR and 6,000 Kcal/kg NAR.
Confirming the development, a senior official of the company told ICMW: "We are looking to procure any quantity ranging between 150,000 tons and 450,000 tons of South African coal depending on the offer price."
"We hope to finalise the deal by the end of next week, ie, the week ending May 24," the official added.
