Jan anthracite imports via Chennai up 33% m-o-m

February 16: Anthracite coal imports via Chennai Port increased 32.83% to 356 tons in January 2015 against 268 tons in December 2014, as per provisional data available with ICMW.

In January, the entire material came from China at a price range of Rs 19,695 tons-Rs 25,180 per ton whose dollar rates were not fully available.

In December, 267 tons arrived from China at a price range of Rs 20,017-Rs 25,787 ($313-$404) per ton and the balance 1 ton arrived from USA at a unit price of Rs 12,068 ($198).
