Jan pet coke imports via Kolkata at mere 25 tons

Pet coke imports through the port of Kolkata were at a mere 25 tons in January 2016 while there were no imports of the material through the port in December 2015.
Pet coke imports have been swinging wildly through this port. It may be recalled that in November last calendar, these had improved to 18,075 tons after plunging to an abysmal 307 tons in October.
Imports of the material in January 2015 were at a far more robust 24,192 tons and for full fiscal 2014-15, were at 165,009 tons.
Total imports of the material in the first 10 months of the current fiscal of 2015-16 went down 23.99% year-on-year to 112,797 tons against 148,380 tons seen in the same period of the previous fiscal.

In January 2016, a single consignment arrived from China at a unit price of Rs 36,312 ($538).
In November, 18,050 tons had arrived from Saudi Arabia at a price range of Rs 3,632 – 3,912 ($106) and the balance 25 tons from China at a unit price of Rs 35,312 ($533).
